How to put together sponsorship offerings for an online event
I was speaking with a client whose organization is used to putting on in-person fundraising events. Since none of those are happening anytime soon - she is scrambling to reinvent the wheel 🔧.
When the subject of sponsorship offerings came up - she was having trouble getting past not being able to offer "tickets to a seated dinner".
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - those of us who are willing to think outside the box and adapt are the ones who are going to succeed. Point blank.
But I get it - sometimes you just need some examples to get you started:
Here are three offerings you can give to sponsors when taking your in-person event online 🔥
(Hint, hint: you are going to want to save this)
First, corporate partners care about visibility and impact above all else: what is helping THEIR bottom line? 🤔
Here are some ideas:
➡️ Hosting an event, live entertainment or panel online? No need to throw that step & repeat away. Make a digital version or place a physical one behind moderators to showcase corporate partners involvement visually.
➡️ If you are hosting a webinar based something - there is usually a stationary announcement bar at the top of or bottom of the screen. AKA valuable real estate. Use that to feature your presenting sponsor.
➡️ Swag: some people LOVE free stuff. Since you are not paying thousands of dollars for food, AV, lighting, travel, rentals, venues, etc, etc - brand ONE valuable piece of swag with your corporate partners logos and MAIL 💌 it to all "attendees" pre-event. Get clever: If you are hosting a "no gala, gala" - maybe you send a reusable wine mug, if you are hosting a panel discussion on women's rights - maybe you send a coffee mug ☕ with an empowering slogan from @sarablakley. Tie that in with a personal note and you are 💰.
With all offerings to sponsors - it's important to remind them what THEY will get out of the partnership so make sure to include:
🌟 What your audience looks like (is it similar to who they are targeting?)
🌟 The number of attendees you expect to reach
🌟 Your social following numbers and engagement
🌟 Your email list size, open rates, and click through rates
🌟 Your number of web page views
🌟 Influencers attached to your org that will be sharing the event info on your behalf (and their follower/engagement numbers)
